IN THE BEGINNING... Sam Shlitz and Ralph Sandler are the co-owners of Fix Auto Whittier / Auto Craft and both are University graduates with M.S. degrees in Engineering. Prior to working in the auto collision repair industry, they were professional engineers by trade. They first got into the industry by servicing dealerships. Then they opened a used car lot and started mechanical and minor collision repairs. They first learned the trade in Houston, Texas. In 1988 Sam and Ralph obtained an existing body shop in Montebello, CA. After running that for a couple of years, they added the present location in Whittier. Since 1995, after a major expansion of Whittier Auto Craft, the shop in Montebello was sold.

In 1996 Whittier Auto Craft joined the Caliber Collision Centers and became known as a Caliber Collision Center franchise. Several years later, after Caliber decided to go the route of Company owned shops, Whittier Auto Craft became independent again.

In 2004 Whittier Auto Craft was invited to join Fix Auto USA as an independently owned shop with future plans to co-brand and then brand. After becoming a Fix Auto shop, the name was "Whittier Auto Craft, a Fix Auto Collision Center". Later it was changed to "Fix Auto Whittier, operated by Whittier Auto Craft."

Eventually, before the end of 2008, we will fully brand and will be known as Fix Auto Whittier.
